Let´s make a little bit of history, and we say just a "little" because Pegasus Terapeutic Riding Centre was created in the year 2005 as the result and desire we had to start a program with that "countryside" profile we enjoy so much. Where everyone that wants to join, learn and feel horses from another point of view will have the chance to do it.

We develop our work in Jacksonville´s property, an enormous place where we found that "countryside" feeling  where the purpose is to enjoy horses and the environment.

Our centre offers not only therapeutic riding  (as an option to improve the quality of life of physically challenged people) but also what we like to call horseback riding therapy, an activity that focuses in finding the bond between horses and riding, learning  how to move with (and around) these amazing animals that horses are.

We want everyone that join our centre to feel safe and enjoy as much as they can horses and the activities related to them, we want them to learn how to be around horses ( for example, how to get a horse from the pasture, saddle him, ride him, etc.) so they dont need to be with an instructor all the time they spend in our facility.

We arrange activities according to what each person needs, wants and expects.Thats why we clarify the different activities or programs we develop. On one side hipotherapy and therapeutic riding, on the other side basic horseback riding lessons and the Horseback Therapeutic Riding (as a way to relax, a way to bond with the horse, leaving riding techniques a little bit "aside") where the work is focused more in sightseeing, in generating a relaxed atmosphere, and its right here were we also include the horse trails.

What interest us VERY MUCH is to let you know that we love horses, we adore our work and we want to help as many people as we can to improve any aspect of their lifes with all that horses have to give and teach us.
We want you to come and enjoy your time in an open environment, riding (whatever the riding option you choose), learning and sharing all this with us.
We like to build a close relation with each of the persons that calls or visits.
We want you to get contagious of our enthusiasm! We want to make this activity a way of life and want you to get involved and participate!

Our dream is to be each day closer to more people, to be able of each day, step by step, offer you something more, so you can feel as comfortable as in your homes, with the advantage of: being surrounded by horses!!

We are deeply interested in developing what we call   Horseback Therapeutic Riding. Whats the meaning of this, well, its to make the horseback riding an pleasant activity to help people relax.
We already explained what we liked of Jacksonville as a facility and how we feel there. We think its the ideal place to make a break from our weekly routines and enjoy some time outside, brushing our horses and mounting. Sharing this pleasure with other people that enjoy the same its the best way to relax.
Thats why we are inviting you all! Age is not an "issue", so: you have no excuses!

We want to spread the practice of the therapeutic riding for physically challenged people, the therapeutic bond with the horse and all related to this amazing animals. All of them very beneficial activities through which we develop our feelings of love, respect, trust,responsibility and safety towards horses, other people and of course ourselves.
Our wish is to encourage the rehabilitation through the therapeutic riding, to include in our schedule physically challenged persons that cant afford paying for rehab and to help the integration of all this persons to the sports and social environment.

We wat to update the working methods by participating in related conferences and seminars and spreading in the different mass media options, the benefits of this kind of this therapy.

We have an aim, or even better, we have a goal, a very important one for us and that is to build a roofed arena and an area where other complementary and additional therapies (physiotherapy, musictherapy ,physcotherapy, speec therapy, etc) can be offered to our special riders.

We would like to achieve our economic self-sufficiency as much as we can and with the help of donations have an extra amount for the centre´s development and of course to help as much people we can, that cant afford the therapy.

The goverment organizations interested in developing the care of the physically challenged, should consider to incorporate this therapy in their rehab programs.
